Local company Jarvis will soon start work on an impressive new development at Borehamwood – minutes away from Elstree Studios, where award-winning films including The King’s Speech, The Other Boleyn Girl, Star Wars and Superman were made. |

Jarvis, a Harpenden based construction company, has been commissioned to design and build 85 houses and apartments for Hightown Praetorian & Churches Housing Association (Hightown). An office building will be demolished to make way for the £7.2m development, which will include a three storey block of apartments (see artist’s impression above) designed to give spectacular views over the countryside. Work is about to start on site, and the first homes will be ready for occupation in summer 2012. Steve Cook, Managing Director of Jarvis Contracting said: “Jarvis has enjoyed a long lasting partnership with Hightown. We look forward to working with them on this exciting project to create new, high quality homes for local people.” David Bogle, Chief Executive of Hightown commented: “We are pleased to be able to provide these additional high quality affordable homes for local residents, in partnership with Hertsmere District Council, The Homes and Communities Agency and Jarvis.” |
