JARVIS TO CARRY OUT SURGERY ON THE ELMS CENTRE .

Local building company Jarvis is due to commence works at The Elms Medical Centre, Stewart Road, Harpenden. The extension and internal alterations to the busy doctors’ surgery will provide two new consulting rooms and a training room, together with a larger waiting area.

The project, which was won in open tender, is due to commence in April and should take approximately 16 weeks to complete. The work has been programmed to provide minimum disruption to the daily operation of the surgery and will include some weekend working.

Practice Manager Jo Adams said, ‘We are very excited about the project as it will provide much needed space at The Elms and will benefit both our staff and our patients.’

The practice, which has eight partners and 14,000 patients, moved to the centre in 1996.

The project has been designed by HSP Architects from Hertford.
