Serving our local community
Since our centenary in 2005, Jarvis Group has provided an annual bursary to the University of Hertfordshire to nurture local talent. The gift provides a scholarship of £2,000 a year to a student, who is selected for the highest academic achievement and living in the Harpenden area. In 2017 the criteria for students was extended to include the LU1 and LU2 postcodes.
If you would like to apply for a scholarship, please contact the University of Hertfordshire on 01707 284000.
‘I have just begun my undergraduate career as a first-year Fashion student at Hertfordshire University and can already report that my academics are off to a great start. My plans at this stage are to complete my degree, whilst undertaking internships/work experience during holidays to gain critical experience in my desired industry.
The University of Hertfordshire has already allowed me to grow so much as a person and an aspiring designer and I consider myself fortunate to be able to attend and carry out my degree.
With the aid of the scholarship, it will enable me to fully immerse myself in my degree gaining vital knowledge and skills to allow me a successful career.'
Faye Griffiths, Jarvis Scholar
'I have much to thank Jarvis for during my university life. Amongst my fondest memories of university will forever be the night shortly before Christmas 2014 that I received the call informing me that I had been selected for the Centenary Scholarship, It was truly a surprise and a great privilege.
As this was my final year and I have received my confirmed marks. I can say with great pride that I will be graduating from my Music Technology BSc course with first class honours.'

Jarvis Charity Walk
We’ve now been holding our charity walks for over 10 years, previously raising funds for Cancer Research UK and The Pace Centre.
In 2019, 17 walkers took on a 16 mile trek in the Peak District to raise money for Duchenne UK, a charity set up to fund and accelerate treatments and develop a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
The walk and auction raised over £2,500.
Jarvis Charity Skydive
In 2018, Mike Peters, CEO of Jarvis Homes, was introduced to Ebony, who suffers from Ataxia-Telangiectasia (A-T), a complex genetic condition which hides in the DNA and isn’t revealed until two carriers of the gene have a child together.
Ebony has a list of activities she would like to complete, one being a skydive. Mike, along with 28 colleagues to join her in the charity fundraising event for the A-T Society.
Thanks to the generous donations from friends, family, colleagues and clients, over £20,000 was raised.
